SHUTR Electric Blast Gates for Schools

For the Extraction of Wood Dust or Welding Fumes

Schools often operate with limited budgets to equip their workshop while meantaining student safety remains a top priority. SHUTR electric blast gates offer numerous advantages over electro-pneumatic dampers such as increased safety and health protection for students and cost-effective installation.

An overview of the key benefits of the SHUTR system:

  • SHUTR gates operate fully automatically in combination with a sensor clamped onto the machine's power cable.
  • Automatic opening of the blast gate, combined with activation of the extraction system, prevents students from inhaling harmful wood dust or welding fumes.
  • A SHUTR gate has no external moving parts that could cause injury to a student, unlike electro-pneumatic (EP) dampers.
  • Very low installation costs: because the electric SHUTR system operates wirelessly, compressed air and control wires are not required, and machines do not need to be modified.
  • Reduced energy costs: automatic activation and deactivation of the extraction system helps save valuable energy.

The SHUTR system is suitable for both woodworking workshops and welding workshops. The sensor can be attached to the power cable of a woodworking machine or welding transformer. The after-run time can then be configured individually for each blast gate. A SHUTR controller is required for the automatic activation of the extraction system.
